Hi! please, call me Cal ooc. I have been roleplaying on mmos for roughly 6ish years and for roughly 5+ years with D&D. I have experience with DM'ing and running events and I used to run a roleplay guild for ESO (elder scrolls online). my timezone is EST, but I tend to stay up fairly late, as I am a night owl.Things of note : I have many many animals I am in servitude to, so I am often forced to step away from my computer. A bit prickly to those she doesn't know, Isla is often wary of strangers. To most, she can come across as rude, flippant and all around disinterested. But, to those she deems worthy of her affection and attention, she is warm, kind and caring. If scorned, she can be cruel and toxic. Often does her blade seek to quench its thirst for blood and often is she happy to oblige - those who have earned her dislike be warned. Isla can have quite an attitude when angered and her temper becomes quite short which results in her picking fights or seeking an argument.

    From a distance          One thing she prides herself in is the distance from which she can nail a target with her firearm. Her preferred method of attack is from the shadows, unseen.

Born before the occupation of Dalmasca, Isla was orphaned at a terribly young age when the Garleans invaded and spent most of her childhood with a band of peddlers as her foster family. The nomads traveled often and everywhere as merchants, creating constant opportunities for learning and seeing a large bit of Othard.
The young Hyur rarely got along with others, and often was she bullied for her small size. Because of this, she isolated herself from the other children and became quite jaded, finding comfort in her loneliness. This made it more difficult for her to make friends. Secretly though, she longed for companionship. Her adopted family never quite saw her as their own, but rather, another set of hands to help with the business.
As a young adult, Isla left her foster family in search of something more fulfilling and exciting - anything but selling various trinkets and baubles. Eventually, the young Hyur found herself employment at a local brothel within Bukyo. This lasted for longer than she would like to admit, before being promptly let go after punching a client and breaking his nose. Her left hook earned her favor with a local underground mercenary syndicate and she was promptly offered work..
She had, once again, settled with a group she could call her family- whether or not it was true. Through them, she was taught proper self-defense, along with how to wield a gun, and was often employed to help on monster hunts, expeditions, and even the occasional bounty. She found her happiness through this line of work, but left after learning of some corrupt business behind closed doors. Leaving once again, Isla took her skills, what few items she had, and made for Kugane as a mercenary-for-hire where an unfortunate turn of events led her under the employment of the Yakuza, ran by the very influential Lavender Lady. After dedicating her time and loyalty to the Family, the woman found herself at odds when the threat of war became more and more evident. Not wanting to be thrusted into a war she had no interest in, she fled.
To better hide her identity from those who claimed her to be an enemy, Isla underwent a change in appearance and name - though that has not stopped her from living a life of crime.

     Business is Booming     

A string of clean, surgical hits across the region has local mercenaries talking - especially about the fact that none of them got the job. Someone's outbidding them all. Rumor points to a small woman with a pleasant smile and a silver tongue, often seen speaking softly with nobles or bartering in back alleys. Need someone gone quietly? Maybe someone who won’t be missed... or will be sorely missed?

     The Knife and the Laurel     

It’s no secret that Isla harbors a deep hatred for Garleans. Since the destruction of her home in Dalmasca and the loss of her family, she’s been chasing her own quiet revenge - one target at a time. Whispers say she even takes contracts against them, whether or not there’s coin involved. Are you a Garlean and interested in conflict RP? Please let me know!

     Tea, Books, and Poison     

Isla has a soft spot for rare teas, good books, and quiet cafes -especially ones with limited foot traffic. She’s been frequenting one lately, often seen scribbling notes into a little black book between sips of some obscure, overpriced brew. Sometimes she people-watches. Sometimes she eavesdrops. Occasionally, someone drinks from the wrong cup.

     The Crimson Ledger     

Isla runs more than a blade - she runs business. Discreet shipments, hired blades, blackmail, forged documents, protection rackets, and debt collection all pass through the same shadowy web. Her criminal consortium, known to a select few as The Crimson Ledger, provides "solutions" for problems people can’t solve legally. Lately, she's been expanding - seeking smugglers, forgers, information brokers, mages, healers, relic hunters and more to join her growing enterprise.

     Raina Greenbriar                 Sister


It wasn't until recently that Isla and her sister, Raina, found one another after being separated from the orphanage for nearly thirty years. Together, they run a Criminal Syndicate while slowly working to rebuild their relationship. Raina has always been the caring older sister - Isla hopes that nothing has changed.


     Ketsuchi Kotetsu                 Friend


A bounty, turned ally, turned friend. This friendship was forged in the fires of violence and trauma bonding. Ketsuchi has proven time and time again to be someone Isla can rely on - even if they occasionally want to kill one another. There is little she won't do for him.


     Koharu                 Friend


Quiet, yet deadly, the unsuspecting lizard gained favor with Isla through inventions and creating useful additions for her weapons. Koharu's hard work and dedication to whatever it is she is working on is one of the main reasons Isla favors her.

     Kairi Arai                 Friend


Though they may not seem close, both Kairi and Isla have become close through unfortunate means - from being stranded in unfamiliar lands, to finding themselves cast out from those they once called family, Kairi is someone Isla now trusts unconditionally and one of the few she allows near her child.


     Seyu'a Yhiinsali                 Friend


One of the first people Eyja met when she joined the Family, Seyu'a has been a wonderful friend to her. From their undying loyalty to one another, to the antics they are constantly pulling, these two surely have a friendship like no other.


     Naiman                 Protector


Plagued by a vision of death and decay, Naim was called upon by his deity to seek out Isla - though he didn’t know why at first. Their initial meetings were tense, uncertain, even hostile at times. But something unspoken tied them together, a pull neither could ignore. Over time, that tension has given way to trust, and trust grew into a unique bond.
